Altruistic Love

Matthew 7:24-25
“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.”

We must come to the place where we recognize Jesus’ absolute Lordship in our lives. That means Jesus is the One who makes our decisions from this point on. His book is our decision-maker even when the world thrusts its pain upon us. As we embrace Jesus as Lord of our lives, the tide will begin to turn for us, and divine favor will start to flow in our direction.
We must realize this: We cannot embrace Jesus without embracing His Word, for Jesus and His Word are one and the same. Jesus is asking us, “How can you say you love Me when you won’t listen to what I tell you?” We can’t. We must learn to live in righteousness even in the midst of this wicked generation. Life is constantly flowing in the negative. If we do not make a dedicated decision to embrace heaven’s principles we will be taken up in the current of negativity. The summation of the principles by which we live our lives—the extent to which we act on what is right, even when it hurts—will determine our future. Let us walk in the principles of heaven.
