YOUR FAITH IS DECLARED BY WHAT YOU DO...NOT WHAT YOU SAY.

James 2:18 (KJV)
"Yea, a man may say, thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

What we believe will always be revealed by our actions. There are times when we, as believers, think we believe the Word of God when in fact our actions prove otherwise. James is telling us that the proof is in the pudding. If someone says they believe God’s Word but doesn’t back it up with their actions, their faith is dead.
True faith is always followed by actions. Here is one example: God tells us to bring all of the tithe into the storehouse so there will be enough food in His temple. He goes on to say that when we do, He will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing so great that we won’t have enough room to take it in. "Try it!" He says, "Let me prove it to you!"
People may say, "Well you just don’t understand what type of situation I’m in," or, "I just don’t have the money right now to tithe." I understand, but by those declarations, we are documenting unbelief in what God said to be true. If we believed what God said, we would jump at the opportunity to tithe. Jesus asked his disciples, "Why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not what I say?"
May God help us become men and women who document our faith in His Word through our daily acts of obedience.

CONFESSION
James 1:22; James 2:18

"Father, I thank You that I am a doer of the Word, not a hearer only. My faith is alive and working and I will prove my faith in Your Word through my actions."

Dr. Robb Thompson
